POSING TIP! How to pose so your waist looks smaller in photos. (without filters or photoshop) Alot of women make the mistake of putting their hands low and wide on their hips (below) But to help your waistline appear smaller you want to put your hands higher up near your ribcage and bring your hands further inwards towards the front (like below). Boom! I also turned her at a slight angle to the camera instead of straight on. Can you see the difference? Do you want to see yourself in flattering poses and actually like how you look in photos?

Sign up below and I'll send you my Posing Trick (for free) that I use on all my clients, so you can try this anytime you're getting your photo taken (without me). ? The way you pose and hold your head in a photo can create or eliminate a double chin. And usually, it's just one simple adjustment you have to make that will fix the issue. Push your chin (head) toward the camera. Yes, like a turtle. "Turtle your head" It will FEEL weird, also like your a chicken, but it looks great from the front and eliminates a double chin! I do it on ALL my clients. I did a short Facebook Live earlier this year where I demonstrated it. Here's the video: (don't ya love that screenshot of me 🤪) That's all there is to it! I am the photographer behind the women’s glamour studio, FiftyCentLove Photographie, here in Christiansburg, Virginia. I'm all about empowering women and helping them see the beauty within themselves. One thing I've found though is that a lot of women are really self-conscious about how they look in photos. So to help with this, I hopped on Facebook Live earlier this year to help women with the basics of posing. And let me tell you - my Facebook audience loved it! It got such a good response that I decided to organize the videos into a FREE POSING GUIDE series so I could help more women love themselves in pictures. You'll get one tip a week. At the end, you'll get my bonus series about What to Wear for my photoshoots. 1. You gotta see my new purple chair! Isn't it wonderful?!?! I love it so much and got to use it this weekend with some new clients. I saw it in Pier 1 a few weeks ago and couldn't stop thinking about it. Have you ever seen something at the store, left, then it was in your brain for the next week or so saying "Buy me, you can pose women on it. Buy me, I promise you'll get your money's worth, Buy ME!" Haha. So I bought it and I haven't regretted it. 2. Charmaine from CharMarie Salon will be my Makeup Artist on 7/14!! I have 1 spot open on July 14th at 9:00am. If you're dying to have Charmaine do your Hair and Makeup for your Glam Session, email me back to grab this spot! Session Fee is $290, includes hair and makeup, photoshoot, wardrobe consultation, and $100 credit towards your prints. 3. Tuesday Tip - How to use window light to take a better selfie Picture #1 (left) 😝: I was standing with the window on my left side. Side light adds harsh shadows and shows LOTS of imperfections. Not flattering.
Picture #2 (middle) 😕: I did a 180 turn so the window was on my right side. It's darker and my eyes are dark and still shows too many imperfections that we aging women do not want to show. Picture #3 (right) 🙌: I turned directly towards the window. THIS is how to do it. The light is totally even on my face. This is called "Flat Lighting" It magically hides wrinkles, fine lines, skin texture, and sometimes pimples. This is one way I light my clients in Glam Sessions. It's flattering and it's the best way to take a selfie indoors. LEFT: Phone was held below chin and shooting upwards. Don't do this. Creates the illusion of a double chin, shows shadows, fine lines, and imperfections. MIDDLE: Phone was held straight on to face. Looks ok, but there's a better option RIGHT: Phone was held just slightly higher than my eyeline. It opens the eyes more, defines the jawline, and lights the face better. I hope this is helpful! Go practice this! Take a shot below, straight on, and then above to compare. You will be amazed! P.S. - no filters or photoshop used. Keepin' it real ya'll. Shot in a bathroom. 😊 I'm a Glamour Portrait Photographer who specializes in helping everyday women look and feel beautiful in photographs. My studio is location in Downtown Christiansburg, Virginia and is beautiful with white brick walls and natural light with windows.
